JCR was inspired by our founder, Dan Langner, and his emphasis on family values. The letters represent the initials of his three sons, Jack, Corey and Ryan. They all share a love and passion for golf, the lifelong lessons learned from it, and the bonding experienced from each and every round shared together. The JCR tricolor flag logo is representative of a child’s building blocks: the same blocks Dan’s sons played with in their youth. These little buildings blocks sparked the idea for our company motto: “Building Blocks to Peak Performance.” The blue and gold colors are incorporated to represent Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where Dan developed the skills he needed to launch a successful career. It was at Marquette that he also had the pleasure of meeting his wife, Colleen. With her support and his extensive experience in the golf industry at MacGregor Golf, TaylorMade-adidas, Slazenger, Gear for Sports and Under Armour Golf; Dan decided to launch JCR in the fall of 2010.
Dan was fed up and tired of playing golf with bags containing big, empty pockets with little to no organization. Thus, he set out to build a better golf bag that had the organizational functions of a modern backpack. This included compartments for all the golf clubs, and internal sleeves built for specific accessories such as our patented smartphone pocket, divot tools, and sunglasses. He then finished the design with a clean and elegant look, removing the large billboard logo that is standard throughout the industry.
